LissySoul

The Story

Who is LissySoul?

“Somewhere between R&B, soul, Caribbean rhythms and the voices she grew up singing with, LissySoul was born.”

LissySoul is the artistic identity of Jandra Céspedes, a singer and songwriter from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Somewhere between R&B, soul, Caribbean rhythms and the voices she grew up singing with, LissySoul was born.

Her sound moves between contemporary and alternative R&B, Latin R&B, soul, afrobeat and amapiano, with bachata living underneath the rhythm and choir and opera training shaping the way she uses her voice — from a whisper close to the microphone to a full, classical lift.

Her writing sits with love, identity, vulnerability, desire, self-discovery, emotional contradiction and what it means to be a Caribbean woman making intimate music at night.
